Leah Farquharson

Artist & Designer

Leah stayed home for twenty-two years as a primary caregiver and homeschool mom. During that time she worked part-time building a handmade business from 2010-2021, when the hassles of everyone working from home and shipping difficulties drew to explore her love of pattern and design.

From 2008-2014, she worked for numerous companies in the scrapbooking industry as a “designer” tasked with creating content for company blogs, kit clubs, trade shows, magazines, and even a tv spot.

Immediate Media discovered her work 2013, and she became an active freelance contributor to their Mollie Makes and Simply Sewing publications until 2020.

While homeschooling and keeping the boys on time for their basketball, classes, track and field, and community service involvement, she also actively worked as a tutor in our local Classical Conversations community to support our sons through their high school journey. Over the course of seven years she has filled several roles, including licensed tutor, support representative, and cohort mentor.

In January of 2023, she took the first steps of a lifelong dream to complete her degree, enrolled in courses at Southeastern University, and is approved for graduation in Spring of 2025 with her Bachelor of Science in Digital Media and Design.

As she wraps up her degree studies, she’s reminded of all the joy that came from sharing numerous crafting, sewing, and scrapbooking projects and can’t wait to dive into building her design business and returning to her art and crafting roots.
